Pricing
-
How much do Cloudrun Wizard forecasts cost?
Pricing is based on your forecast timeframe:
Timeframe Price 1 Day $49 3 Days $119 5 Days $149 10 Days $199 Anything in-between these timeframes is pro-rated to the hour. For example, a 4-day forecast costs $134.
-
Will my forecast cost more if it covers a larger area?
No, we automatically scale the model resolution based on the size of your forecast region to provide the same price.
-
How much do WRF runs from uploaded input files cost?
If you run WRF by uploading your own input files, the price of each run starts at $9 and depends on computational resources used. The price is calculated based on the compute resources used to produce the simulation. These depend depend on model grid size, grid resolution, duration of the simulation, and physics settings.
Examples:
-
For a 5-day simulation using a domain covering 4800 by 3600 km at a grid resolution of 12 km and 30 vertical levels, you can expect to see the following options (times and prices will vary depending on the model configuration):
Price Run Time $2.86 6 hours $3.67 4 hours $5.21 3 hours 15 minutes $7.03 2 hours 45 minutes $11.68 2 hours 30 minutes -
For the same setup, but with an added storm-following nest of 1200 by 1200 km at 4-km grid resolution, you can expect to see the following options (times and prices will vary depending on the model configuration):
Price Run Time $6.18 19 hours 45 minutes $7.87 13 hours 30 minutes $10.95 10 hours 30 minutes $15.69 8 hours 45 minutes $26.09 8 hours

Upfront pricing
When you upload your WRF namelist file, you'll be given several pricing options before you start your forecast. You can pay more to use more compute power and complete your runs sooner, or pay less if the less expensive option is fast enough.
Each pricing option includes an estimated time it'll take your WRF run to complete. These are estimates, and may not reflect the actual time of completion. Cloudrun continuously analyzes run-time data to provide more accurate estimates in the future.
-
How much does it cost to store my outputs on Cloudrun?
Output storage costs $0.10 / GB / month, pro-rated to the second. First 7 days of output storage after your forecast completes are free. You can download and delete your data at any time. However, when you keep your model output with Cloudrun, we make sure that your data is safe and that you can access it from anywhere in the world.
-
What happens if my WRF run fails?
Occasionally, a custom WRF simulation can fail for a number of reasons. How we resolve the billing of a failed simulation depends on the circumstances:
- If your WRF run fails at any time due to Cloudrun failure, you will be notified and credited for the full amount.
- If your WRF run fails prematurely due to WRF numerical instability or misconfiguration of the input data or namelist, you will be responsible only for the fraction of the time used up to the failure, pro-rated to the second.
In either situation, we are committed to working closely with you to resolve any issues, and to make sure that you get the best possible research and/or forecasting product.
-
When will I be billed?
We bill your credit card on file on the 1st of every month. This includes all forecasts you've made, and your monthly disk usage cost for all stored output files. Any credit you have will be applied to your balance before your credit card is charged.
You credit card information is secure and never stored on Cloudrun servers. All credit card transactions are securely processed using Stripe.

Plans
We currently offer only a free, pay-as-you-go plan. We'll consider monthly and annual membership plans in the future.
